Focus was appointed project managers and quantity surveyors on the £25 million new Museum of Bristol – MSHED – to complete the regeneration of Bristol’s historic harbourside.
With £10.3 million of HLF funding MSHED uses Bristol’s designated collections to tell the rich story of the City in an extensively remodeled and refurbished quay side Industrial Museum, together with an exhibition fit-out.
MSHED won the “Best Community Building” award in the Local Authority West of England region in July 2012. It was nominated for “Museum of the Year” by the Art Fund Charity, just missing out to another Focus project – the Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter.
