Continuing our 30 Years in 30 Days campaign, we’re shining the spotlight on Costa Charalambous, Senior Building Surveyor, who has been with Focus since 2015. Costa’s dedication and hard work have made him a vital member of our Project Management and Building Surveying teams, particularly within social housing and refurbishment projects. We’re especially proud of Costa’s recent success in becoming a Chartered Surveyor, passing the rigorous RICS APC exam on his first attempt – a testament to both his professionalism and our company’s ongoing commitment to staff development.

NAME: Costa Charalambous

ROLE: Senior Building Surveyor

QUALIFICATIONS: BSc (Hons), MRICS

JOINED: October 2015

BACKGROUND:

Since joining Focus, Costa has become an integral and valued member of our Project Management and Building Surveying teams. Costa has experience particularly working with social housing and refurbishment projects and both the knowledge and expertise to undertake surveys independently providing reliable information in various fields including progress, condition and feasibility surveys.

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS AND CONTRIBUTIONS:

• Continued Focus’ longstanding tradition of passing the APC first time to become a Chartered Surveyor.
• Over 100 measured surveys done to communal areas in Stafford and Nottingham – including Victoria Centre.
• Numerous compliments from clients regarding customer service and high quality of product delivered (post snagging).

NOTABLE PROJECTS:

• Telford and Wrekin – 66 New Build Development (Clerk of Works)
• PA Housing – Kitchen and Bathroom Programme (Over 800 units)
• PA Housing – Windows, Door and Roof Programme (Over 350 units)

PERSONAL INSIGHTS:

• Motivation: Working hard and proving doubters wrong so my kids in the future can say “If my Daddy can do it, so can I”
• Future Vision: Being a line manager, so I can pass on all the knowledge and expertise my line managers have taught me. (Also attend live WWE PPE event)
• Fun Fact: I am a HUGE WWE fan, spanning back to when it was called WWF (attitude era).
• Favourite Focus Day: Christmas parties, sitting with Darren “Mojito” Booker. When a Mojito is ordered, even if it wasn’t by Darren, you know, you just know, it was ordered by Darren.
