The Curve, Leicester – Shaping the future of performing arts
With a strong client base within the Arts and Culture sector we have worked on numerous projects ranging from award winning theatres to prestigious music schools.
Among our notable achievements over the past 30 years is The Curve Theatre and Performing Arts Centre, a flagship project in Leicester’s Cultural Quarter. This state-of-the-art-venue represents a significant leap in both artistic innovation and urban regeneration, blending world-class performance spaces with support for the creative industries. We are incredibly proud to have contributed to its creation and ongoing success.
Our role began with enabling Leicester City Council to secure vital funding from Arts Council England and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), a critical step in bringing this project to life. Subsequently, as Project Manager and Contract Administrator, we oversaw the entire project lifecycle, from initial design through to completion, with careful coordination of the specialist fit out and base build to create a multi-purpose venue.
Steven Fletcher, lead Partner shares why this is one of his highlight projects, “It is rare to have the opportunity to work on a scheme as significant as Curve. At the time of the project, Focus were undertaking a period of significant growth and service expansion and the experience we gained from working on both the development and delivery of the Leicester Cultural Quarter, not just Curve, helped establish our reputation and profile not only at a regional level but also a national level.”
