Focus were appointed to take forward the extension and refurbishment of one of the busiest on call fire stations in Cambridgeshire – adding an extension to increase the floor area by 25% and providing a new entrance lobby, toilet facilities and function space for the local community. The building was also reconfigured to improve the staff offices, install a new kitchen and locker room together with minor external repairs, replacement windows and a new heating system.
The building had received little significant investment or alterations for years, no longer fully met operational needs and careful management was required to undertake the project whilst maintaining its operational status. The construction works were undertaken by Lindum Group and completed early in 2019.
