The Derbyshire Rail Industry Innovation Vehicle being developed in partnership with TALGO will see the creation of a Rail Innovation and Training Centre that will capitalise on both the proposed HS2 routes and network rail contracts associated with the expansion in rail sector investment.

Focus produced a Business Case for the proposed project, including a close analysis of likely outputs and economic impacts. The analysis featured training numbers, additional learning opportunities, direct and indirect jobs in the local and regional economy, and the potential impact on graduate retention. Moreover, the business case addressed the wider benefits and economic impacts that the project will deliver in terms of research and development.

Focus appointed Maber Architects to deliver a RIBA Stage 2 Concept Design taking the findings of the study and testing market viability to develop concrete proposals for the partners to consider taking forward.
