Focus were appointed by Scraptoft Parish Council to undertake a detailed consultation and local area analysis to identify the need for additional community facilities. The Council used the findings to support a £750,000 funding bid to create a successful and well-regarded community hub providing a sports hall, changing rooms, toilets, a small meeting area, office and kitchenette.
Given the success of the new hub, the Parish Council subsequently began considering further works, and commissioned architects’ plans for an extension to include a lounge, roofed entrance, new courtyard garden, larger kitchen, bar, increased storage, enlarged sports hall, enlarged office, new patio/ viewing terrace and lobby. Focus were again appointed by the Scraptoft team to run community consultation to capture the views of local residents as well as suggestions for improvement.
This consultation again underpinned the successful application for funding for the extension.
