Nottinghamshire County Council’s Sir John Robinson House in Arnold is a grade II listed, well-known historical landmark in Nottinghamshire, and the former Home Brewery HQ. The building provides 42,000 sq ft of accommodation over 4 floors, is situated on a self-contained site and has parking for over 180 cars.
An accommodation review by the Council identified a chance the site would soon be surplus to operational requirements, so Focus were appointed to identify alternative uses and associated costings for each option. Following this Focus prepared a detailed operational business case and business plan to support grant funding applications to deliver economic benefit for the county.
Through smarter ways of working and greater use of technology, the county council had rationalised the number of buildings it needed in recent years which provided the opportunity to sell Sir John Robinson House and bring it back into commercial use.
