Phoenix Square is in the heart of Leicester’s Cultural Quarter. Funded by Single Local Growth Fund, European Regional Development Fund, Leicestershire Economic Partnership, and private funding, it is centred around a social hub and delivers a creative community which fuses together an independent arts cinema, immersive digital gallery, individually designed homes, office studios and a creative workspace.

Focus lead on the creation of the mixed-use regeneration scheme incorporating economic development and cultural elements in four spheres of managed workspace and incubator facilities, Digital Media facilities, residential accommodation, and privately owned move-on workspace units.  Focus were subsequently appointed as Project Manager for the £7 million extension, continuing our support role as Phoenix developed their plans and applied for National Lottery funding.

Phoenix 2020 will create a two-storey extension to the building in Midland Street in the city’s Cultural Quarter, to house two new cinemas and an enhanced, more accessible digital art gallery. The café bar will be extended, additional toilets added, general improvements made, and a roof terrace bar and restaurant provided.
