Focus were appointed as the project manager and quantity surveyor for the exhibition which explores how tartan has connected and divided communities worldwide, how it has embraced tradition, expressed revolt, and inspired great works of art as well as playful and provocative designs.

Tartan, V&A Dundee’s first curated exhibition, brings together a dazzling selection of more than 300 objects from over 80 lenders worldwide, illustrating tartan’s universal and enduring appeal through iconic and everyday examples of fashion, architecture, graphic and product design, photography, furniture, glass and ceramics, film, performance and art.

As well as ensuring V&A Dundee’s time, cost and quality targets are achieved and the project meets its objectives, Focus were also responsible for:

  • Developing and managing procurement process and associated contracts
  • Establishing financial control and effective reporting procedures
  • Acting as Client representative throughout
  • Preparing Cost Report, Valuations, Final Accounts
  • Attending and chairing project meetings.
