Focus are working alongside Purcell Architecture to provide both Quantity Surveying and Funding services. The project is being undertaken in two phases. Phase 1, completed early 2024, comprised the internal refurbishment of the South Block and the re-roofing of the North Block with funding from the Newham Council’s Active Spaces programme and Historic England.

Phase 2 is currently in development and will comprise the internal refurbishment of the North Block, new build communal hub and the re-roofing of the South Block with the assistance of National Lottery Heritage Funding.

The project which will instil a new lease of life into the building, transforming it into a major creative hub will also play a large part in Newham’s Recovery Strategy from the pandemic and help to cement its place as a borough for the arts.
