St Marylebone Parish Church has been shaping – and indeed naming – the local community for over 900 years. The “Changing Lives” project has continued this through vital work to its Grade I Listed fabric as well as improving accessibility, providing a warm welcome and creating an exciting programme of heritage activities with local partners. It has enabled all who live, work and visit Marylebone to meet, learn and explore their place in history.

Repairs to the roof and unique plaster ceiling have enabled the building to be removed from Historic England’s Buildings At Risk Register, a new lift and staircase has provided access down into the crypt, the reconfiguration of which incorporates new event, hospitality and activity spaces, securing and growing the parish church’s role as a cultural and community venue and hub.

A community “buzz” has been created through delivering programmes built on the area’s unparalleled millennium of heritage, attracting new audiences and connecting Marylebone’s contrasting, disparate and increasingly divergent communities in meaningful interactions and shared experiences
