The Museum holds the largest display of British road transport to be found anywhere in the world with a collection of over 249 motor vehicles, 450 cycles, 120 motorcycles and well over 1,000,000 archival items. Together these cover the whole history of road transport in Great Britain from 1869 to date. The re-development re-energised the Coventry Transport Museum’s galleries, creating a world-class experience that provides enhanced opportunities for people to learn about, and get involved with Coventry’s rich transport heritage.
Focus provided funding consultancy for the successful HLF Round Two and ERDF awards. Subsequently, we worked with the Museum on project implementation.
The project comprised:
Coventry Transport Museum: The extension, enhancement, refurbishment and reinterpretation of the collections to improve the visitor experience.
Old Grammar School: the conservation and revitalisation of the Grade I Listed building to make it fit for purpose as an education / event space and resource centre.
