The new build centre aimed to challenge discrimination and build on the positive achievements of its diverse, multi-cultural community.
Focus worked with the project leaders on business planning, funding, project management and delivery on this flagship project funded by Arts Council England, Greater Nottingham Partnership, ERDF and New Deal for Communities. Focus undertook extensive community consultation with local arts organisations, community groups and organisations, schools, colleges, the local community and BME support groups to identify the need, use and support for the project. Focus were also the appointed Project Manager, Contract Administrator and Clerk of Works for the delivery of the project.
The Art Exchange focuses on the local communities of Radford and Hyson Green and provides facilities and support to promote traditional and contemporary Asian and Black Art, helping Asian and Black artists and practitioners create and promote their work.
