CAE Training and Services UK, which previously occupied a smaller unit in Manor Royal, received planning permission to change the use of Diamond Point, a detached warehouse fronting Fleming Way, into a high-tec flight training facility with the addition of a 51,500 sq ft mezzanine for classrooms, briefing space and toilets. Seventeen full height flight simulators and one fixed base simulator would be accommodated on the ground floor of the building along with associated training areas, canteen and offices. There would also be computer-based training facilities, Airbus and Embraer FTD’s and fully equipped classrooms for advanced pilot and cabin crew training. The new CAE London Gatwick also has dedicated training facilities for easyJet.
Focus were brought in as a sub-consultant Quantity Surveyor to William G. Dick Partnership who were also acting as the Contract Administrator on this large-scale new-build project.
