The V&A is the world’s leading museum of art and design with collections unrivalled in their scope and diversity. Combined with a world-class temporary exhibition programme, they attract over 3.5m visitors to the museum every year.
Focus were first appointed to the exhibitions framework in 2012 and have delivered over 20 exhibitions across South Kensington and Dundee. These projects ranged in value from £150k to £2m with programmes varying from 9 months to 18 months for the development and delivery. The appointment commences at RIBA Stage 1 and develops all the way through to RIBA Stage 7, including the deinstallation and making good of the spaces ready for the next exhibition.
Temporary exhibitions at the V&A are designed by externally appointed or in-house design teams (including 3D, graphics, audio-visual and lighting design). The content may encompass architecture, books, costume, jewellery, textiles, metalwork, glass, furniture, fashion, photographs, prints, drawings, paintings, water colours, sculpture and audiovisual.
