Focus Consultants have been appointed to provide NEC Project Management (Contract Administrators) services for the delivery of the below contracts together with general contractor procurement support and Project Management services for the decanting of the collections from the Maritime Museum.
The project involves the redevelopment of a number of the City’s major historic maritime assets as follows:
Maritime Museum: External/ internal conservation works, internal structural alternations together with a full refurbishment including new services installations of the Grade Two Star Listed Museum.
Dock Office Chambers: External/ internal conservation works, internal reconfigured together with a full refurbishment to convert the Chamber into a Collections and Artefacts store together with facilities to undertake vital research and conservation works.
North East Ship Yard; Construction of a Maritime Visitor Centre to achieve Passivhaus standards together with associated landscaping works and civils works to the dock to allow for the permanent dry-berth for the Arctic Corsair. Also, an historic Scotch Derrick Crane will be taken down, carefully conserved and re-erected on site.
Queens Gardens; The Gardens and surrounding highways will be refurbished/ improved to provide an important geographical link between the Maritime Museum and the North End Ship Yard together providing a green space within the City Centre.
