Focus provided NEC Project Management, Contract Administration and Procurement Support services for the successful delivery of the Hull Maritime project, a major heritage-led regeneration programme that has transformed a number of Hull’s most significant maritime assets:
Maritime Museum: Conservation works, structural alternations together with full refurbishment of the Grade II* Listed Museum.
Dock Office Chambers: Conservation works, internal reconfiguration and full refurbishment to convert the Chamber into a Collections and Artefacts store with research and conservation facilities.
North East Ship Yard: A new sustainable Visitor Centre plus associated landscaping and civils works to allow for the permanent dry-berth for the Arctic Corsair. The historic Scotch Derrick Crane was dismantled, conserved and re-erected on site.
Queens Gardens: Refurbishment to the Gardens and surrounding highways to provide an important geographical link between the Maritime Museum and the North End Ship Yard a as well as providing vital green space within the City Centre.
Through proactive programme management and collaboration with Hull City Council and the wider team, Focus helped facilitate the successful delivery of a complex multi-site heritage regeneration project. The successful restoration of key maritime assets, combined with major public realm improvements and enhanced visitor facilities, has created a lasting legacy for Hull while preserving and celebrating the city’s rich maritime history for future generations.
