Devonshire Park was founded in the late 19th century as a focus for sport and the arts. The Park has an internationally renowned Tennis Centre supported by the Lawn Tennis Association, the Winter Garden, the Devonshire Park Theatre and the Congress Theatre. The complex also delivers major events and conferencing services.
Focus were appointed as Project Manager and Contract Administrator for the new build changing room and gym facilities to support the expanding, high-profile, tennis tournament. In addition, we oversaw the creation of a new show court, practice courts and a site irrigation system.
The development was funded by Eastbourne Borough Council and the Lawn Tennis Association, and we undertook extensive optioneering to secure maximum return on investment and achieve the optimum balance of the international tournament requirements and long tennis season on the one hand, and the day to day conferencing outside of tennis season on the other.
