The project will achieve:
- New galleries and interpretation to better show how Dahl’s working practice is an example that can help anyone unlock stories of their own.
- Vital preservation and fresh interpretation of Dahl’s Writing Hut.
- A new ‘treasure trove’ gallery for Dahl’s archive, significantly increasing access and showcasing more material than previously seen.
- New learning spaces.
- Redesigned galleries increasing usable space and flexibility for new activities and new income streams (conferences, event hire).
- A sustainable future for the museum supporting the local rural economy.
Focus was appointed as Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor to carry out a Feasibility Study to develop a realistic plan for the redevelopment of the galleries. Now that the study is complete, we have subsequently been appointed to deliver the project. Services include procurement and management of the Design Team to develop the design, followed by procurement and management of the Contractors as well as acting as Contract Administrator.
