To date Focus have been appointed for seven separate appointments which comprise:

The Sun Living with our Star: Focus provided Project Management, Cost Consultancy and Principal Design services for the 750m2 touring exhibition exploring the past, present and future of humankind’s relationship with the Sun which opened in October 2018 on the 1st floor of the Science Museum in the Special Exhibitions Gallery. Spectacular interactive experiences and stunning imagery take people on a richly visual and action-packed adventure. The exhibition uses animations, archive recordings and film to bring to life a unique collection of scientific instruments, technological innovations and historic artefacts to illustrate the profound influence the sun has, and has had, on the way humans live.

Engineer Your Future: This was our first exhibition for the Science Museum which encouraged young people to find out if they’ve got the problem-solving, big-thinking, team-working skills to be a globe-trotting engineer of tomorrow that comprised four highly-interactive zones to explore and play.

The Last Tsar: A fascinating exhibition that explored the role of medicine on the family of Tsar Nicholas II from blood diseases and mental health to spiritual advisors like Rasputin. Focus provided QS services for RIBA Stage 2 to 4 creating preliminary budget estimates at Stage 2 and up to Stage 3, detailed schedule of works/Bills of quantities for tendering purposes at Stage 4 and Pre-Tender Estimate over a 3 month period.

Carbon Capture: Focus were appointed to provide QS services producing a Cost Plan, detailed Schedule of Works/Bills of Quantities plus facilitating tender evaluations and interviews for this temporary exhibition which invites audiences to explore technologies that remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere to mitigate climate change.

Amazonia: Amazônia is a temporary exhibition showcasing images of the landscapes and indigenous peoples of the Amazon taken by Sebastião Salgado, an internationally renowned Brazilian photographer. Our services included cost plans for both Concept Design and Technical Design, pricing schedule, tender reviews and value engineering where required.

Our Lives in Data: The exhibition explores what Big Data is, how it can provide insight into who you are, and how predictions are made based on this which affect you now and in future. It will provide a framework to help visitors engage with the discussion about their data and how it is taken and used.  Focus’ involvement included creating cost plans for both Concept Design and Technical Design, pricing schedule, tender reviews and value engineering where required.
