The capital works have improved the built and natural landscape including restoration, conservation and access work, a new car park, and the path network restored allowing the reintroduction of Regency walks. Three of the remaining follies have been restored, one re-built, and a 21st Century folly commissioned as a specialist artist installation developed with community input. The Victorian Coach House provides a visitor welcome and orientation, and a venue for interpretation and displays. New visitor facilities include fully accessible WCs and a refreshment kiosk near the Terrace overlooking the lake. Construction of a vocational training centre in the walled Storey Gardens will provide community and volunteer facilities.
Interpretation is provided via trails, self-led tours, digital / mobile materials and improved wayfinding, to provide an introduction to the history of the site whilst encouraging exploration. The project also delivered new learning, engagement and participation activities, together with a full volunteer programme.
